New Year off to a good start!

Well, Christmas was a great success at our house and we finally finished having the new siding and gutters installed the day before my son and his fiance arrived from California.  I found time in between to explore Second Life and InfoIsland a bit.  I’m still not totally convinced of it’s worth in libraryland, but it certainly was a welcome diversion from non-stop football and basketball games on the television.  It’s even a tougher sell to my fellow librarians.  I show them the postcards from all of the neat places I’ve visited and they simply laugh.  I have convinced our director to let me do a presentation on Second Life for all librarians and they must at least listen to me for a 60 minute span.  It would be nice for them to at least know what it is, even if they choose not to be part of this exciting world.
