Weekend in Monterey

The difference in time zones has meant that I hit the sack about 10pm, but then get up before dawn here in California.  This has been a challenge with the night life taking place in the plaza right under our hotel room.  There is music and laughter lasting at least until 2am – even childrens voices can be heard.  The sea lions start their racket about 4am, and this morning(Sunday) a man began preaching from his bench using a mic at 5am.  All of this is interesting, but a bit hard on the sleep cycle.  I will probably get used to it just about the time we leave to return to our VERY QUIET community in Michigan, where life isn’t nearly as exciting!
