Your Newest Museum Board Member

For years I have helped with various projects at the Plymouth Historical Museum as a part of Library cooperation.  Prior to becoming a librarian, I was a museum curator, so this is an area near and dear to my heart.  Recently, I was elected to the Board of Directors of the Plymouth Historical Society, which runs the Museum.  This is a wonderful thing, and I look forward to helping this great organization any way I can.  As it turns out, my love of blogging and all things “web 2.0” may come in handy with the museum.  As not-for-profit groups and societies struggle to remain relevent in this Internet-driven world, they must turn to new technology to reach out to patrons and customers where they reside – in cyberspace.  It is my great hope that my technology expertise can help bring the Museum into the lives of more young people and keep our local history alive for many years to come.
